The other way to make money with a blog is to promote a convential business. ?So if you have a brick and mortar business, or if you are starting home-based business ( like an multi-level marketing business for instance ) you can use your blog to promote your business by presenting information that will help your potential customers solve their day to day problems using your products and services.
The key to blogging for a living is to be consistent. ?You must provide information that your target audience is interested in reading. ?You must help them by either entertaining them, educating them, or helping them solve their problems.
