Associate Programs is one of the oldest affiliate marketing directories available
Clickbank offers over 10,000 items you can promote which pay 20-70% commissions
To sign up to become an affiliate is FREE in most cases. But you will often be required to submit a web site and marketing method for review before your application will even be considered.
You may or may not get approved by some of the larger, more well-known affiliate companies and programs like Walmart, Best-Buy or Vonage. Amazon.com and Clickbank.com both offer free, instant approval.

Once you have picked a few products or services to promote, the next step is to MARKET your affiliate link to the people most likely to buy that product or service once they come to know it exists.
