Network Marketing/MLM??has been a successful business model for decades. However, within the past ten years it has really grown. You can now find a Network Marketing/MLM company that sells just about anything. From power tools to kitchen gadgets, there?s a direct sales company that support it. This can make it difficult to find the right company to choose.
Here are three crucial steps to help you narrow your choices and find the right direct sales company for your ultimate success.
What?Network Marketing/MLM Are You Interested in Joining?
Step #1 What are you interested in?
Take a look at your own passions, interests and hobbies. What do you like? What Network Marketing/MLM products, if any, do you own? Make a list of potential items you?d enjoy selling. For example, if you?re a fitness enthusiast then you may enjoy selling fitness gadgets, nutrition supplements or outdoor gear. Make a list of 5-10 products you think it would be fun to sell. Remember, fun is important. If you don?t like the products they?ll be tough for you to sell.
Step #2 Research Network Marketing/MLM?opportunities
Now that you have a list of potential products you?d like to sell, it?s time to research. You can find direct sales directories online. You can also visit the Network Marketing/MLM, for information. Write down the companies that offer products that match your interests.
Step #3 Compare opportunities
Not all Network Marketing/MLM?companies are created equally. In fact, they can be quite different. Visit the website of each direct sales company you?re interested in. Compare:
* Company growth and history – How long have they been in business and how successful are they? Is the company growing?
* How they support their consultants – Do you get marketing materials? Do you have access to a mentor? Do they provide a website?
* How much does it cost to get started?
* How much do they pay? How are you compensated?
* Do they offer a tiered system? Can you recruit new consultants and earn a percentage of their sales?
* How often do they add new products?
* What are their marketing rules? Can you create your own marketing materials? Can you have a website? (Some companies do not allow this.) Do they allow you to sell however you see fit?
You?re likely going to find pros and cons for each company you research. If you need help narrowing down your choices, consider attending a party in your area. Getting to know other direct sales consultants who also represent the company?s products can answer your remaining questions.
You?re going to invest a lot of time and energy into your business. Make sure you?re representing a Network Marketing/MLM?company that is going to support you to succeed.
Earlier in the week I was listening to an amazing interview between Vince Reed and an individual from whom I have learned so much, Tim Erway. This interview is very important and something that everyone should hear.
But, for those who will not get a chance to hear the whole thing, I would like to cover some of the major points that were brought up. Tim Erway was discussing his “7 Pillars a Multiple 6 Figure Business” and provided copious information on why each point was so important.
I found this information very useful and figured I would go ahead and share my notes with all of you. I do this in hopes that you can gain the value from these words of wisdom that I have and be able to improve your own process to increase success.
Target Market
It all begins with a working knowledge of your target market. If you do not have a clear image of your target audience and how you plan to reach them, campaigns you begin, leads you generate or traffic you drive will be inaccurate and random.
You need to know who you are selling to, their profile and personality. What do they like to eat and wear? What are their aspirations? What do they experience every day? What are their needs, fears and pains? All of these answers will help you create a precise and accurate marketing message that will be effective with the people you intend to reach.
This will result in ad campaigns with a clear marketing message that has the intended effect. This will lead to an improved relation with your audience and better results from your audience and lead list. After all you will understand their need and this in itself is highly attractive and essential for building trust.
A Compelling Offer
This takes us to our next point which is creating the message that will be sent to the target audience you have in mind. If you are in the fitness industry marketing a special supplement and exercise program that transforms the smaller body type into a robust physique. Your offer needs to convey the value of what you are providing and how your solution changes their world.
This must be done in a way that inspires confidence that you know their problem better than they do themselves and have thought long and hard to bring them the exact solution at the perfect price. Hitting this sweet spot will take some clever calculations.
One important way to do this is to follow the 10X value, always sell your product as if it were 10X as valuable as the price you are asking for it.
A Lead Capture Machine
“The money is in the LIST!” This is something we have heard a zillion times. But, in all truth, we could stand to hear it a bit more. The list is a solid gold mine and if you are not taking full advantage of your list building capacity you are missing out on major profits.
The statistics from the best Direct Response Marketers in the world prove this. There is only a slim 3% of passing traffic that will convert to paying customers at first contact. Then there is this giant 97% of traffic that will see your message and have great potential to convert to paying customers if they were only followed up and engaged.
This is where a lead generation tool would be really useful in ensuring not one visitor is allowed to escape from your marketing campaign. Lead generation allows you to reach out to the rest of the visitors that did not buy and give them another chance after building a better relationship with them.
If you are not capturing your leads and building a daily list, you are walking away from a major profit.
A Sales Conversion Process
Now that you have an email program up and running and pulling traffic back to your online presence, you will need a sales conversion process to turn this attention to conversions. There are several important components of your sales conversion process.
A capture page – for lead generation
A Thank You Page – if you are selling affiliate products
A Sales Page
An Email Follow Up program
Continual Value Based communications – including YouTube videos, podcasts, and blog posts, etc.
One great way to boost your sales as an affiliate is by adding a bonus for those who choose your offers. To do this effectively, think of your offer from the perspective of the consumer, what would they really like to see attached to the deal? Think of what is missing. This will lead you to fill the void with something that adds scarcity, urgency and additional value – these are difficult incentives to resist and a sure fire way to boost your sales.
A Process To Increase Your Customer Value Over Time
You will then need to maximize the value of the customers and the deals you are offering them, this can be done in a variety of ways. For network marketers, use training programs and systems that will keep your network members attention.
If you will be selling affiliate products, make your sales and promotions according to the products with a good ascending sales funnel and a higher ticket backend offers as well as hefty commissions.
For those selling their own products, you will need to take full advantage of your higher ticket backend offers that will widen the profit margins and improve the value of your clients over time.
Here is something to consider, if you only have one offer to make to your visitors and prospects, a $27- Ebook. You will have to sell MANY ebooks to hit a respectable goal like $10k each month.
But another way to do this would be with a strong ascending sales funnel. If you are offering a $97 offer, a $297 offer and a $2000 offer, you will only need a relatively small number of customers to complete your goal. This greatly increases the value of your customers.
A Place to Find Targeted Prospects
This all comes back around to the first point we made about knowing the avatar of your target audience. You can have the perfect marketing campaign in place but if you don’t have a good hunting ground picked out, so to speak, your quarry will never arrive. This will mean that sales conversions, page conversions and any other positive metrics will never get a chance to get off the ground.
But the good news is that there is a way for you to get ahead of the curve and locate your target audience where they tend to hangout the most, Facebook. After this all you will have to do is choose the most suitable ads and social media strategy to present to them. Tim Erway actually makes a fairly impressive training product on how to use Facebook more effectively.
Regular testing & optimization
In the beginning you will be greatly focused on making sales and acquiring as many customers as it takes to do this. But, in the long run it will be how well you can learn from your process and improve your methods that will decide how many customers you end up with. Testing, tracking, traffic campaigns, upsells process and all other aspects of your marketing campaign will have to be analyzed for efficacy. This information must then be applied to optimizing your on going market efforts.
Final notes
In the end, Tim Erway really makes things simple and easy to understand and strings it all together in a simple comprehensive plan that can’t fail. So long as it is followed to the letter. To recap those important points, your marketing campaign must have:
In the first part of this article we talked about the “secret key” to making more money, in this part, we give you some tips that will help you to get started…
Our biggest problem lies between our ears. Your current level of thinking is what got you where you are… If you want to change your level of income, you must first change your level of thinking. This is the greatest challenge that you will face, and it is a challenge that all of us, regardless of our level of income, face each and every day.
I would suggest that you start by taking the time to meditate each an every morning. There are tons of guided meditations available on youtube, and with the internet, almost everything that you need is available with the few clicks of a mouse.
Take Inventory of Yourself….
Start by taking inventory of what you currently have. Do you have a special skill set, or knowledge that you can share with others? Do you have a trade that you can parlay into a small business? I know that you may not believe that you have anything of value to offer, but God/the Universe provides each of us with a set of gifts, its up to you to express that gift in a way that it serves others.
Brainstorm…
Ask yourself, How can I earn an extra “X” dollars this month? And then let your mind answer that question. Don’t put any judgment on any of the answers that your mind produces, this is a time to let your mind’s creativity work without you putting any restraint or limitations on it.
Get Your Ass to work – Chose one path and decide to make it happen.
Once you have brainstormed and created a list of at least 20 things that you could do to serve others and create additional income. Pick the most plausible idea, the one for which you have all of the resources necessary to get started on … And get Started… Don’t procrastinate. When you procrastinate, you sow the seed of doubts in your mind, and if left to its own devices that seed will grow into fears which sometimes seem unsurmountable.
Get New Friends…
A person who has never earned more than $1000 can’t show you how to make $1000. The person who has never made $10,000 a month can’t show you how to make $10,000. I can’t teach you how to make $100,000 a month because I haven’t done that yet… ( it’s something that I’m working on, but I’m not there yet ) and that’s why I hang with people and follow the model and advice of others who have. If you want to change your level of income, you must find new friends to hang around… People who have serious goals and whose level of thinking, discussion, and experience will help you raise your level of thinking.
About 20 years ago, I took a new job in the Atlanta area and I roomed with a co-worker of mine as I searched for a home for my family. My co-worker had this gorgeous home. It was probably valued at around $275000 ( which according to the standards of some, is just a moderate home ) but my first home cost me only about $30,000 and my second about $87,000. I had never considered purchasing a home like my co-workers because it was above my level of thinking at the time. It’s not that I couldn’t afford it… I had simply never seen, up close a house of that value. And I recall as I lay in bed one night, thinking… “Why not?” Ultimately, my wife and I built a new home in an that was not too far from my co-worker’s home.
My point is that being exposed to environments and concepts that were at a “higher” level, my level of thinking changed.
Now one other reason that you will need to get new friends is that your current friends if they are satisfied with where they are, will do what they can to keep you right where you are. In the black community, we say that they are like “crabs in a bucket”… Each time one of the crabs gets a little closer to getting out of the bucket, another will pull them back down. I won’t go into the reasons behind this, but as they say, “It is what it is”. So be prepared to lose some friends on the way.
So that’s it… To recap, the secret key to making more money is..
Learn how to provide service to others.
Create Value
Help as many people as you can, get what they want.
Once upon a time, setting up a business meant opening up a shop somewhere where you could be sure that customers would come to see you. You needed to order stock and keep the shop tidy, well-heated or ventilated, and you needed to always be there. All of this meant that starting to sell would be preceded by weeks, even months of extremely diligent work, and with no guarantee of success.? Anyone looking to set up a business would often decide that, on balance, the risk was too big. Now those problems are things of the past, and the potential businessperson can get things up and running very quickly.
The thing about “bricks and mortar” businesses is that they relied a lot on location and the other factors mentioned above. By starting an online business, your sales floor can be a small study under your stairs and your customers can be anyone anywhere in the world.? Nowadays , there are multiple technical solutions available which allow you to process payments electronically from a customer’s credit card or online bank. But even if you are not in a position to do this, you can set up a PayPal account and do your selling on eBay.? There is barely any initial financial investment, it is possible to generate a positive cash flow in relatively no time at all
So now you can do business in your pajamas at 1.30am.? Due to the advent of the internet there are various ways that a budding new entrepreneur can get started making money online.? 3 of My favorite ways of making money online are:
Affiliate Marketing
eCommerce
Internet Network Marketing
Affiliate Marketing
I like affiliate marketing because it allows you to sell the products that other people have developed.? This means that all that you have to do is drive targeted traffic to your affiliate offers and if you have done your research and marketing correctly, the sales will start to flow.? The nice thing about affiliate marketing is that you don’t have to spend any of your time in product creation so you can focus both your time and capital on driving targeted traffic.
eCommerce
Platforms like eBay and Amazon make it really easy for new entrepreneurs to start seeing cash flow pretty quickly.? The nice thing about
partnering with these two eCommerce giants is that you don’t have to drive traffic.? These sites already have millions of buyers who are?already looking for your products.? Now you can set up your own eCommerce shop, but if you are new to eCommerce, I really recommend that you partner with one if not both of these giants so that you can learn the basics.? If you want to learn more about running an eCommerce business, click here to download my free ebook which will explain the basics of running an ecommerce shop.
Internet Network Marketing
My Favorite online business is Internet Network Marketing.? If you have ever heard of Amway, or Herbalife, then you have heard of network marketing.? Network marketing has gotten a bad rep over the years because many have been sold the idea that it was going to make them rich over night.? Network Marketing is not a get rich quick scheme, it is a get rich slowly business that if you develop it correctly, it will definitely generate a substantial and residual income.? And this is why I like Network Marketing.? The work that you do today continues to pay over and over and over again.? It is one of the few online businesses, that allow you to generate a residual income.
There are numerous network marketing companies out there, and they offer everything from Health and Wellness, to Fitness, to Travel products and services..
The other thing that I like about Internet Network Marketing is that unlike traditional network marketing which primarily teaches you to chase your friends and family, internet network marketing you can promote your products and business opportunities to the millions of people that are out there looking for what you are offering on the ‘net.
There are over 2 Billion people on Facebook alone, so this gives you an endless supply of potential customers and business partners? to speak with.
Conclusion
It’s my belief that everyone who has a 9-5 corporate job should also have a side hustle.? That way they can let their job finance their side hustle until their side hustle makes them so much money that it would be a waste of their time to show up to the 9-5.

The question that is on everyone’s mind, do you really need good content?
Content marketing is the intersection of advertising and publishing. When you create great content you create value.
The forms of great content come from education, inspiration or entertainment. These are the three values you need to bring to the table when it comes to creating content. This applies to your blog, social media or videos. Keep that in mind as you’re creating content for your audience.
When you create value, you will create an audience. When there is an audience, people gravitate towards value.
To build your online business, and nurture prospect/customer relationships the right way, you must deliver “value in advance.” Content is how you do just that.
It’s important to know how to craft and execute a content strategy that utilizes social media, a blog, or YouTube videos. Using these high-yield strategies, you’ll spread your brand’s message to new audiences and existing prospects alike, by providing genuine value in advance.
Pretty simple, right? Let’s not overcomplicate it.
The content marketing strategy
Say you have people driving up the freeways you have some advertising on the billboards and make no mistake this is every effect. Any place you are finding an audience (or group of people), you’re more than likely to find a platform to advertise on.
Here is how it works online. Facebook for example which has over 3 billion people and 1.2 daily active users. They created a massive audience on their platform. Now, because there is an audience, now they can sell advertising as their business model.
Any place you can find an audience, you can find advertising. Here is another extreme example. If you ever been to a sporting event, obviously there is an audience there and you can advertise to that audience when they use the restroom.
When you create an audience, you can advertise, and when you advertise you are driving awareness for your mission, product, or service. You can advertise all day long.
When you have awareness, you have the possibility of making sales. To make sales, you need to create great value.
The reverse is true as well. If you create poor content, you create no value. No value = no audience.
It doesn’t educate, it doesn’t inspire and certainly doesn’t entertain.
The thing to keep in mind is that creating great content isn’t enough. Great content is table stakes. You have to come to the table with great content.
The perfect customer avatar
There are specific ways to really hone in on who this person is:
What are the challenges they’re currently facing, or roadblocks they’re hitting?
What’s their #1 personal life goal / #1 professional goal?
What are their top 3 fears about starting an internet business?
Buyer Modality
Competitive: Competitive buyers want to perform smart, quick, and decisive actions as a competitive advantage.
Methodical: Methodical buyers review all technical information to assure themselves they’re making the right choice.
Spontaneous: Spontaneous buyers enjoy the thrill of a quick purchase and the perceived emotional benefit that it will generate.
Humanistic: Humanistic buyers are also motivated by emotion, but want to understand more about the organization they’re buying from and the individuals who comprise the organization.
In this video, I’m going to share the exact steps in how I figured out how to understand my customer avatar.
The customer value journey
When there is no awareness, there is no desire for a customer to purchase a product or service. The goal is to drive engagement and getting the perfect avatar to raise their hand and say, “I’m interested”.
This is what we call the “left turn” method, starting with awareness can you can see below. Having a lot of great content is great, but if you are not leveraging great content to make sales, building your list, taking them through a sales funnel, it’s a waste of time.
The “Content Baton”
Using content to move the customer to the next stage in the customer journey. When you create content, you’re driving awareness and the perfect avatar is becoming an avatar that your product or service exists. This creates value and there is an audience around the piece of content that you create.
Because you have created an audience, you can advertise in the next step of the customer journey.
If you fail to provide the next step in the customer journey, it’s not just bad marketing but it’s also bad user experience.
Let’s take a look at Wayfair. They have an awesome blog for those new looking to buy furniture and home-goods. They have a great piece of content and below the piece of content, if the visitor wants to buy something, that is considered to be the next step.
The front-end is often referred to as the first product that a new customer buys. The back-end is all the additional products that a customer will buy from you over the time that they remain your customer. The back-end can also be a high-ticket item as well.
It can be a free plus shipping offer, a deeply discounted offer, etc. what matters is that there is a sale and you’re capturing a buyer not just an opt-in.
Although opt-ins can also be on your front end.
In either case, whether you have an offer for a sale or an opt-in as the first step in your front end, you’ll usually also have a front end sales funnel consisting of a tripwire offer and or a couple of upsells and down sells. This is your front end sales funnel.
What is the back-end marketing?
Back end marketing is any offer that sells to an existing customer.
Again the type of offer is irrelevant.
The important thing to learn is that this is in the back end. So it usually consists of a follow-up email sequence that nurtures the buyer and moves them onto another offer, which in turn is actually another funnel with upsells and downfalls behind that, or a high ticket value ladder.
The money is in the back-end
Seasoned affiliate marketers know that the real money is made in the back-end.
What that simply means is that you make more money by selling additional products to the same customer than you make on the initial front-end sale.
In fact, the top marketers are actually making no money on the initial first sale. Sometimes they lose money on that first sale. The best-case scenario is that they split even to acquire a customer.
The reason why this works online is because of the backend.
To the newbie affiliate marketer, this can be very confusing to understand. How can a company stay in business if they are making no money or even losing money on a sale?
The secret is that they are making all their profit on the back-end. Including recouping the loss of that first sale, the front-end sale. It’s easier to sell to a warm customer than it is to sell to a cold customer.
In order to understand this let’s look at everything above and below the line of the first offer sale.
In the video below, I explain the back-end offer and how it flows with high-ticket items

E-mail marketing may appear outdated when compared to newer methods like Facebook live, but it has stood the test of time and is still considered a highly cost-effective way to engage with your audience because you have control over the traffic.
The key to effective email marketing is capturing your audience’s interest and making them eagerly anticipate opening your next email.
But how can you achieve this in an era of short attention spans and abundant options?
The solution lies in creating a soap opera sequence.
And no, we’re not suggesting that you hand your company over to your competition. Rather, it involves infusing your emails with a touch of drama and suspense.
You desire to pursue this course of action as it will lead to presenting proposals to this group of email subscribers once they have placed their trust in you.
In the case of my personal soap opera email series, I possess a total of 5 emails, with each email dispatched daily, wherein I narrate the story of my venture into online entrepreneurship. I elucidate the circumstances preceding my initiation and expound upon my current situation.
Here’s typically what the 5-day email sequence looks like:
Day #1: Setting the stage
Day #2: Drama and backstory
Day #3: Epiphany
Day #4: Hidden benefits
Day #5: Urgency: Call to action also known as a CTA
Here’s what the e-mails look like broken down:
E-mail 1: Establishing the backdrop
Commencing the series is the inaugural email. Its purpose is to inform the recipients about the contents of forthcoming emails.
An effective method to generate anticipation is to commence the first email with a pledge to disclose a secret. It is crucial to express the benefits of this secret to you and convey your eagerness to share it.
Always accompany the first email with a tantalizing hint, prompting the readers to anticipate your subsequent email.
E-mail 2: Intrigue and background information
The second email in the series must contain a significant amount of suspense to captivate the reader. Many organizations utilize this email to recount a moment when they faced adversity. It could be a situation where the market plummeted to an unprecedented low, and their company was on the verge of collapse.
Towards the end of the second email, drop subtle hints about what lies ahead. In other words, let your audience know that you managed to overcome the challenge and saved your company—and that you are ready to reveal the details in the next installment.
In the third email of the soap opera sequence, it’s time to unveil the transformative secret you have discovered – the one that has the power to change everything. While it may appear early to reveal such a crucial aspect, the key lies in avoiding coyness. Fearlessly share the epiphany with your audience, but also tantalize them by hinting at even more valuable insights to come in the next email.
Email 4: Hidden Gems
As the sequence progresses to the fourth email, the spotlight shifts towards the hidden benefits of your product or service – the gems that emerged when you experienced your epiphany. To make this email truly captivating, ensure that these hidden benefits remain genuinely concealed. Avoid stating the obvious and instead, artfully present them as revelations that will leave your readers amazed and eager to explore further.
Email 5: Urgency and Call to Action
In the climactic final email of the soap opera sequence, it’s time to deliver a powerful and direct sales pitch to your readers. While each email in the sequence contains a call to action, this email stands out by creating a sense of urgency, compelling your audience to act promptly on your enticing offer. Leave no room for hesitation as you motivate them to take that decisive step towards your product or service.
Your E-mail list is the lifeblood of your business
By integrating your email autoresponder with your funnel and launching a well-crafted welcome email sequence, you open the door to building an invaluable list of potential customers. The best part? This traffic belongs solely to you, and no one can snatch it away.
Now, picture this: If Facebook were to shut down tomorrow, all our hard-earned connections within our groups would vanish in an instant. That’s why being smart and proactive in your business means shifting your focus towards collecting emails and nurturing regular connections with your subscribers.
Here’s a compelling stat: Email marketing trumps social media by a staggering 70% in terms of effectiveness. Social media posts face fierce competition amidst the myriad of other content in someone’s feed. Their lifespan is incredibly short – on Facebook, you might get a mere few hours at the top of someone’s feed, and it’s even briefer on Twitter, where posts disappear after approximately 18 minutes. So, without a doubt, email marketing stands tall as the superior avenue to reach people in a truly memorable way.
Now, before you dive into crafting those email sequences, let’s emphasize one crucial thing – knowing your perfect avatar inside out. It’s the key to success. Understanding your ideal customer in every detail enables you to create personalized and engaging emails that resonate deeply with their specific needs, interests, and preferences.
To sum it up, connecting your email autoresponder to your funnel and rolling out compelling email sequences sets the stage for cultivating long-lasting connections with your audience. The beauty of it all is that you own this traffic, shielded from the uncertainties of social media platforms. So, embrace the remarkable power of email marketing and leave a lasting impact on your subscribers by engaging with them in a way that truly counts.
Your Perfect Avatar
Before you start writing any of these sequences, I just want to emphasize how crucial it is to identify your ideal avatar so that you are clear about who you are writing these letters to.
The significance of the soap opera email sequence lies in its ability to foster the crucial “know, like, and trust” factor with your subscribers.
This is an aspect that cannot typically be achieved merely through reading a blog post or watching one of your YouTube videos.
Establishing the “know, like, and trust” factor serves as the bedrock, laying the foundation that allows you to present compelling offers for your products and services.
Once this foundation is set, the next step is to present products and solutions that directly address the challenges and issues faced by your email subscribers – something they can genuinely relate to.
By resonating with their needs and concerns, you pave the way to retain them as loyal fans for the long haul.
Once you know the secret of how to motivate your prospects to buy
Things get easier.
I’m going to give you an “insider” secret to have your prospects salivating with motivation.
But…
Before I give you the goods, lemme first ask you…
What is it that creates motivation in the first place?
Hmmmm…
You see, if you don’t know the answer, it’s pretty hard to motivate prospects to buy, isn’t it?
Yes!
Okay, here’s the answer…
A Gap.
A gap between where you are and where you really want to be.
The bigger thy psychological gap, the bigger the motivation.
Here’s how an amateur marketer creates that gap for a network marketing opportunity…
“Our opportunity allows you the opportunity to earn a part-time to a full-time opportunity from the comfort of your own home. Imagine being able to wake up without an alarm clock, have a 30-second commute to your office, spend all the time you want with your friends and family, drive your dream car, live in your dream home, and vacation multiple times per year.”
Sound familiar?
Nothing wrong with being aspirational and stirring up people’s “dream machine”.
But what a PRO realizes is that, while a desire for gain is a motivator…
A much bigger motivator is the avoidance of pain.
When you only present the possibility, you are only doing half of the job to create the “gap”.
Want to motivate your prospects to buy? Always present the problem before the solution…
When you present the problem and the pains associated with the problem, THEN the possibility, you create a massive GAP which naturally creates increased motivation for your prospect.
The challenge is, you can’t exactly present the problem by telling people their life sucks, they have no freedom, they’re broke, they’re trading their life away for a paycheck, etc.
I’ve seen people do this… It doesn’t go over well!
How to accomplish the same thing but without offending anyone…
The most masterful marketers are always the most masterful story-tellers.
When you tell a story about yourself and the pains you associate with not having freedom, your prospect will naturally relate to you even if they don’t have the exact same issues.
Some of you know that I sell books and training to network marketers on how to become successful. If you pay attention, one of the things you’ll notice me doing ALL THE TIME is talking about MY pains associated with struggling as a network marketer.
I struggled for 5 long and painful years…
It was so frustrating wondering why I couldn’t make it work when I saw others crushing it…
I was disheartened and felt defeated because it was like I had tried everything and it still wasn’t working…
In fact, I felt a bit like a fraud because I was trying to promote this “lifestyle freedom” when I didn’t even have it myself!
You know what I hear all the time…
“Matt, it’s like you were speaking to me directly!”
Why do people tell me that so often?
Because by telling my story of my problem and pains, my prospects relate to it and connect with me. (Which increase conversion because
By starting with the pain I create a bigger GAP between the problem and the possibility which creates increased motivation!
If you want to see an example of a sales letter I wrote that converts like CRAZY using this technique, take a look at the web page selling my new eBook…
Have you ever gone through your sales presentation PERFECTLY only to find that your prospect STILL didn’t enroll or buy?
Why didn’t they buy your product?
I’ll explain the #1 reason why prospects don’t buy soon, but first…
Let me share a quick story:
I had a young lady on my team years ago. Very ambitious, talented and super likable.
She called me one day frustrated.
“Matt, I’ve shown the business to 16 people in a row and no one has enrolled!”
I thought that was pretty strange since I knew what a talented communicator she was.
So I started digging in to troubleshoot…
Me: Who are you showing?
Her: Friends, people I meet, you know just regular people.
Me: What are you saying to invite them?
Her: I’m using the 2 step text or the 4 step invite.
Me: Okay perfect. When you sit down with them, what are you saying?
Her: I’m doing the 3-Step Setup and then playing our video.
Me: Okay great. What are you saying after the presentation?
Her: Exactly what you train us on… “Awesome right – what did you like best?”
Me: Okay then what?
Her: They tell me what they liked best.
Me: Okay then what?
Her: Well. We just… kinda talk.
Me: Are you actually ASKING them to enroll?
Her: OHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Maybe you’ve “gotten” it already…
The #1 reason why people don’t enroll is that:
Drumroll…
They’re not asked!
This young lady then started asking people to enroll and guess what happened?
Yup.
She started enrolling people.
She was doing everything right EXCEPT she wasn’t asking for the sale.
Despite what the airy-fairy network marketing guru’s might like you to believe, we are not SHARE People – we are SALES People.
Sharing alone might make your feel good if you’re shy, but listen…
Shy salespeople have skinny kids.
If you want to actually make money and build a big team, ASK for the sale and teach your team to ASK for the sale.
So, my friend, go forth and close!
