Marketing and Advertising, although they sound similar but in reality they are not. Advertising is only a part of the bigger game called Marketing. Marketing encompasses complete conceptualization of a brand right from research to designing to advertising to sale. Advertising, on the other hand is a component of the marketing process which is nothing but conveying the message through variety of mediums to promote the product.
Advertising is one of the most important component of a marketing strategy and also the most expensive. Advertising constitutes sending the message across the public about your company, product or services. It also constitutes behind the scenes work like the process involving formation of various strategies and coming up with a right one to target the viewers.
The strategy consists of planning things like placing ads, deciding what media to use, what time, frequency etc. The advertisements are generally placed via mediums like television, snail mail, newspapers, internet, emails, radio, magazines, mobile messaging, flyers, billboards etc. The most popular one is of course television although advertising on internet is becoming increasingly popular too.
Easiest way to differentiate between Marketing and Advertising?is to consider marketing as a cake and if you cut the cake, advertising as one of the pieces of that cake. The other pieces of cake are market research of the product, product designing, media planning, PR, product pricing, customer satisfaction, customer support, sales and many more. All these components or pieces of cake should work independently but collectively in achieving the bigger goal i.e. sell product and build company’s reputation in the market.
Marketing is a marathon process involving many tasks that involve hours sometimes days of research. The research part of marketing takes the longest duration as it involves thoroughly understanding the behavior of people towards a product. Designing the product and developing advertising strategy is also a time consuming process. Only components that take less time are executing advertisements and sales. Marketing can also be perceived as a medium between consumers and the company.
But many companies often make mistake of confusing Marketing and Advertising. They try to ape big companies like Coke and Pepsi in advertising but they simply ignore the work that goes behind that. The classical example of this is, take the case of logo for instance. Many business owners are so hysterical about the logo of their company in their advertisements that they think that it will simply bring in the sales. But what makes a logo works is none other than the reputation of the company and the logo must have a feeling to it and should truly reflect company’s values.
One should also remember that these companies spend fortunes on advertising which a new start up business can’t. Rather than spending unnecessary money on branding your product one should invest money and time in communicating to the consumers that they can address their expectations. After building reputation and growing to a big size company one can think of these lavish ideas. Educating the consumers also helps as it will give them an understanding that you know what you do and are best at doing that.
Smart marketers are aggressive in approach rather than passive. They provoke reader’s minds by prompting them to do something rather than just making them knowledgeable of the product. Smart marketers also bring home the names, addresses and contact numbers of people who are really interested in hiring your company by employing aggressive marketing. Thus having a good marketing campaign speaks a lot about the company and their products and advertising gives that finishing touch to the hard work done by the marketing people in selling a product.

If your product/service is similar to others, visit their site and analyze the costs as well as the necessary marketing strategy. Identify your competitor’s weaknesses and improve your products/service based on them.
Know the various ways to effectively advertise your business. You should have knowledge about the different methods to advertise the business. Learn more about the importance of search engines, banner ads, blogs, and articles. You can use these tools to advertise your product/service to the whole world.
How much are you going to price your product/service? You will have to go back with the competition in the market. Your price should not be too high nor too low; it should be affordable to customers but at the same time, give you enough profit. Put yourself in the shoes of your customers and study the existing market prices of related products/services.
Shipping method. Since the business is on the net, you can expect customers from different parts of the world. Post the shipping details on your website in a clear manner. If your products are valuable, you should get shipping insurance especially if you need to ship outside your country.
Mode of payment. Most online businesses accept credit cards and if you choose this option, you will need to decide between merchant accounts or third party processing centers. Some make money online businesses accept money order or checks; will your business accept them too?
A business plan is vital to all new forms of income from the internet. It is the only way to ensure success. Start developing your business plan now. Take your time when developing the marketing plan because it is the most important part of the entire business plan. After creating the plan, you can now start with the income opportunity you’ve chosen.

How to achieve full-time income in network marketing…
Recently, I got a message from a guy on in my organization asking how to achieve a full-time income in network marketing.
I’ve got a couple of different answers to this…
The first is pretty simple…
Personally enroll as many as it takes.
The bottom line: as many as it takes.
After 24+ years of experience being involved in network marketing and building that equal over one million active customers, I’ve heard a lot of strategies.
My personal favor (sarcasm) is the “I’m going to enroll 5, that enroll 5, that enroll 5 and I’m going to enroll anyone else until I’ve helped them get 5.” or the “I’m going to give away my personals so my downline will stick around” bullsh*t.
That’s a welfare mentality.
Personally, I think that’s a broken system.
If you give enrollments away and constantly building people’s team…
They have NO incentive to build it themselves.
In theory…
It makes sense…
But you don’t gain mastery in network marketing with theory.
You gain mastery and a full-time income in network marketing by doing the work…
Not philosophizing and reading books about it.
The reality when trying to achieve full-time income in network marketing
You’ve got to go personally produce and put in enough people to find LEADERS!
Network marketing is a sorting business…
You have to sort through some chickens (people who don’t produce) before you find an eagle.
Don’t think I’m talking negatively about anyone…
It took me 5 years to get to a full-time income…
I was a chicken myself!
The only eagle-like quality I had was that I attended all the training and events.

Here are my easiest ways to make a passive income online.
1) Do not do everything at once
This is a big one.
Which is why I mentioned it first.
Chances are, you may be doing endless research on Google and YouTube on how to get started.
There are so many different ways to make money online. Pick one that you feel suits you and run with it. It’s important that you pick one that you are passionate about. One that you feel you can carry out long term. If you are not passionate about the topic, you will not survive long enough to see a profit.
2) Focus on one offer
As you may have seen, there are thousands of offers to choose from.
If you see someone succeeding in a particular niche, it doesn’t mean that you will succeed too. This is why it’s important that you select one that you are passionate about. This is the key to your survival in that niche.
When you are serving your audience, you shouldn’t focus on the money. Focus on how you can help them. Money is a ‘by-product’ of how many people you can help.
Focus on one offer, help those people, and you’ll get paid over and over.
3) Focus on driving traffic
You can use any platform. It doesn’t matter if you have a website, a Facebook page, or a YouTube channel.
There are two methods of driving traffic.
Free – This is an organic approach where you create and produce content.
Paid – You pay a fee to a platform like Facebook. Facebook will display your ad in front of the audience that you wish to target.
This sounds great, doesn’t it? But what if you don’t have any money?
This is where you need to learn how to be ‘resourceful’.
Here are some ideas:
Pick up a part-time job.
Sell your items on eBay.
Start a dog walking service.
Babysit your neighbor’s kid.
Take out a loan or obtain a credit card.
The opportunities are endless – You have to figure out what works within yourself and use that to your advantage. There should be no excuse to why you cannot make money or get started.
If you keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result, nothing will change. You have to change something in your life to get what you want.
This is the reason why people are stuck in their lives.
