My Simple Strategy For Presenting Your Opportunity In Network Marketing
Write out your entire product and opportunity presentation word-for-word.
Then read it out loud at least 10 times.
Not when you have a huge downline, making a ton of money, or just when you need to get on stage.
If you want to be a master at presenting your opportunity in network marketing and top earner, don’t just rely on your upline or company presentations. Know it yourself. Backwards and forwards. Just like the top earners do.
Remember this:
“If poor people would do what rich people do, they would stop being poor.”
In turn,
If amateurs would do what professions do they would stop being amateurs.
When I decided to get a mastery understanding of my product and opportunity and actually take the time to formulate my own presentation – in my own words, my confidence soared.
I never actually memorized my script word-for-word, but because I took the time to write it out and read through it over and over, it made me so much more powerful.
It forced me to come up with benefits that were compelling.
It made me much more persuasive. And it made it so much easier to actually become a presenter from the stage because I had the information so clearly in my head.

If you’ve ever struggled with a lack of confidence in your communication ability, this book is a must-read. I read this when I was 18 years old but by the pool when I was working as a lifeguard.

Let’s tackle belief/mastering mindset in network marketing.
Simply put, if you can’t master the inner-workings of your mind, you will be highly unlikely to master building a network.
Another way to put it is this…
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world.
If your inner world is consumed by scarcity, lack, dis-belief, lack of confidence and negativity in general, your outer world will be consumed by the same.

Napoleon Hill was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie, likely the wealthiest man alive at the time, to interview the wealthiest leaders of the time. It would have been the equivalent in today’s world of interviewing Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet and the like to interview them on what their biggest keys to success were as it relates to their mindset. I’ve read this more times than I can count and it was, in fact, the first personal development book I ever read.
#2.) As a Man Thinketh by James Allen

This one is a super quick read. It’s not exactly written the same way we speak today, but nonetheless, it’s one of the most solid books ever written on the mindset that it takes to become successful.
#3.) The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz

This is one that no matter how many times you read it, you’ll continue to get new insights that will trigger an ah-ha moment for you. There are some very specific principles here that directly relate to network marketing. In fact, my mentor had me memorize a quote in this book when I first started working with him. In the first 30 pages or so, you’ll know why when you read the quote that starts with “It’s good to honor the leader.”

My mentor recommended this book when I first started working with him. Because I was coachable, I devoured it along with every other recommendation he had. (There’s a big lesson there) The laws outlined in this book are solid gold. I took pages and pages of notes and have been able to use them as a teaching reference for many many years.
#3.) Developing the Leader Within You by John Maxwell

As you can tell, John Maxwell is one of my favorite authors. His background is in building churches which is all about leading your members to refer to other members so it’s a very similar type of leadership to network marketing.
#4.) Primal Leadership by Daniel Goleman

One of the most effective traits of powerful leaders is emotional intelligence and the ability to transfer emotion and energy to others.
Goleman is the premiere author for emotional intelligence and this book is the best I’ve seen relating it to leadership. I have to admit, after the first 1/3 of the book, it gets pretty analytical and is a tough read. If you have a super analytical personality, you will LOVE it…
…and if you just can’t get through the last half of the book, the first half itself is worth the read!

Today I’m serving up some honest sauce…
Let’s be real.
Most people fail miserably in network marketing.
They also fail miserably in real estate, internet marketing, traditional business, and virtually every other entrepreneurial endeavor.
1-5% at best make it to a full-time living.
So what’s going to be different about you?
“But Matt, I’m serious.”
“Matt, I’m committed.”
“But Matt, I’m dedicated.”
The same words uttered by the 95%+ who fail.
I said all those things myself during the 5 years I failed miserably as an entrepreneur.
And listen,
You DO need to be all of those things.
But allow me to let you in on a little secret…
Until you decide to become an expert in whatever category of entrepreneurship you’ve chosen, you will most certainly remain an amateur.

Sure, they might read 5 books on personal development. But not network marketing specific books.
How do I know?
I’ve spoken to audiences in over 35 countries and I’ve asked this question to THOUSANDS of network marketers.
When I ask them to raise their hands if they have, it’s always the same.
Maybe 1 or 2 out of 100 will have read 5 network marketing books. And these are the committed ones actually attending training events! If it’s 1 or 2 out of 100 at events, what do you think the % is overall?

This is one of the best selling books of all time in our profession and a genuine classic. Take some of the teachings here with a grain of salt. Mark was super old-school and gives scripts like “you’d have to be brain dead not to take me up on this” which I would never in a million years say or teach. But the principles are as solid as they get.

Creating Belief in network marketing boils down to one thing…
If you’re a leader in your network marketing organization then you have one job…
Creating belief in network marketing, so much so, that they choose to go ALL-IN!
This brings us to Law #5: Facilitate Major Decisions
The starting point for major success is a major decision.
When I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, I didn’t just fall on top of the mountain…
I had to make a major decision to take a few months out of my life training and then a week to fly to Tanzania and make the trek.
When I found myself 20-30 pounds overweight, I didn’t have 6-pack abs 90 days later by accident…
I had to make a major decision the I was no longer going to tolerate being a flabby chunker.
And in the same manner, network marketers don’t achieve the highest ranks in your company by futzing around with their business and “trying” it out.
It takes a MAJOR decision to create MAJOR success.
So, young Jedi, this is where you must understand HOW major decisions are made and HOW to get a LOT of people making major decisions to go ALL-IN.
Here’s the rule… and never forget this:
Major decisions are made at major events.
You can get people excited and create some momentum from webinars, calls, meetings, zooms, etc…
All of those things help to create belief, for sure…
But on a scale of 1-10, those things can get people to maybe a 7 or an 8 on the belief scale.
Not bad.
But only good enough to create a “builder”.
Leaders (those who hit the top ranks) are created ONLY when their belief gets to a 10.
In order to get someone to a 10, they typically need at least a 2-day immersion event (ideally put on by your company) with hundreds or, ideally, thousands.
2 full days of training, vision casting, belief building, inspiration, leadership development and hearing success stories of people like them (or not even on their level) who have created an incredible lifestyle through your opportunity or network marketing.
When you become a master of event promotion and, in turn, duplicate masterful levels of event promotion, you create a leadership development factory.
THAT, my friend, is how you create not just momentum, but a MOVEMENT.
I can personally attribute millions in earnings from this one strategy.
If you want to not only become a powerful leader, but also help CREATE powerful leaders, become a master of event promotion.
I say “help” create powerful leaders because, in reality, as individual leaders, don’t create leaders…
People become leaders on their own through their decisions…
Decisions create leaders.
Therefore:
Events create leaders…
So get good!
