Recently I was asked, “How do you overcome objections in network marketing?
Specifically, the “I’ll join when I’ve seen you’ve had success” objection.
How to overcome objections in network marketing
Specifically, how do we overcome the objection: “I’ll join when I’ve seen you’ve had success.”.
A couple of things:
First – Someone who says something like that is NOT the person that I want to work with.
You see, when most people are new to network marketing, they have kind of a needy mentality…
…they feel like they need people to join their organization regardless of WHO joins.
I always joke about when I first got started…
There was a little compact mirror that I brought with me EVERYWHERE I went…
I’d put that mirror up to someone’s nose and if they would fog it up then I would show them!
Did I really do this?
Of course not! (Not for very long, at least. People started to get weirded out…)
I tell this story to prove a point:
You should show just about everyone…
Whether you think they’re going to join or not. You can’t prejudge.
One of the reasons I struggled so long is because I tried to read people’s minds…
Determine if they were going to build a business or not.
This inhibited me from approaching people that could have brought in a ton of business.
So, show everyone!
BUT…
While you have the mentality of showing everyone…
You want to have an abundance mindset.
You want to realize there are A LOT of people.
The way I look at building my organization is this:
I’m the CEO of my own business.
As CEO, I am not looking for low-level employees…
I’m looking for high-level people.
For presidents…
Vice presidents…
I’m looking for my generals!
Is it even necessary to overcome this objection?
If someone is going to give me crazy objections…
I don’t need them on my team.
Why?
Because there are millions of people out there to prospect.
When you have a scarcity mindset, you feel like you’ve got to close these people…
Like you’ve got to close everyone you’re in front of.
I don’t care how good you are, you’re never going to close everyone you get in front of.
Approach every situation with the perspective that if someone is coachable and teachable…
If they lock arms with me, I can change their life forever.
I can change the life of their grandchildren and their financial destiny for their family!
With this perspective – I approach every encounter as not being need.
If they’re not willing to help themselves then I’m going to politely move on to someone else.
Be confident but never arrogant.
If you choose to overcome this objection:
Typically if you’re getting that objection, you don’t have enough certainty.
I’ll tell you this:
The reason why people largely don’t have credibility with their prospects is usually that you don’t believe they have enough credibility.
They’re not showing up with enough certainty that transmits a feeling of leadership or power that you are going to win with this.
If you want to bump up your certainty and level of leadership…
You may want to bump up your confidence.
The more you bump that up, the less you will get that objection.
So, enough on mindset – let’s get into some tactics of overcoming this objection in network marketing
First, you can overcome objections in network marketing by bringing them to someone in your up-line, someone else who is making money.
Someone who has the credibility you’re looking for…
Second, If you want some words to say, you can smile and say something like:
“Dude, that’s like saying you’re gonna go to the gym once you see that I get in shape. Obviously you don’t join a gym and get in shape in a week. It takes some time to get in shape. And if you wait for the next six months or a year before I’m in amazing shape, you’re gonna be six months or a year behind me. So that objection doesn’t make any sense my friend. Are you ready to get started?”
Close early and close often.
Here’s what I mean by close early: When a presentation is over…
Don’t go into sales mode.
The business should be amazingly simple and when your presentation is over…
GO FOR THE ASK!
Ask if they’re ready to partner up with you.
If you go through the presentation and do another 10-15 minutes of salesmanship, they think they have to do the exact same thing.
So simply, finish the information & close the sale.
Now, they give you an objection…
Them: “I’ll join when you’re making money.”
You: Dude that doesn’t make any sense. That’s like saying that you’re gonna get in shape after I’ve gotten in shape. You know you don’t join a gym and then have six-pack abs in a week. It takes a while to develop that, right? Just like any business. And so if you wait six months or a year you’re gonna be six months or a year behind me. So my suggestion is let’s get in shape together, let’s start making money together and let’s go build a big business. You’re ready to get started?
Handle the objection then close again.
Don’t get psychologically tied to this one person and their objection…
That will cost you your success.
Go make it happen.

The 3 Components of Leadership in Network Marketing
Let’s talk about leadership in network marketing
Specifically, the three components that determine leadership effectiveness.
Listen, I’ve discovered these components of leadership in network marketing to be true after 24 years as an entrepreneur…
Building sales teams…
Sculpting organizations and working with well over a million customers (a lot of those customers becoming Millionaires)…
And becoming a multi-millionaire myself.
I’ll tell you leadership is definitely not an inborn skill or ability I was born with.
I don’t know of anything that I can look to that says, “Wow, he’s naturally talented”.
Some people are naturally talented with the Gift of Gab,
Or they really care about people and are intuitive…
…But for me? I never really felt I had a talent.
If I did it would probably be that I am amazingly determined.
I wasn’t determined to be the best athlete…
Wasn’t determined to make the best grades…
But when I became an entrepreneur and I got immersed in the world of personal development, I got very determined to succeed in business.
The 3 Components of leadership in network marketing you must develop in order to be successful
These components I had to develop over a lot of years of failure.
We fail our way forward with a lot of trial & errors, mistakes, and mishaps.
The founder of IBM says, “If you want to greatly increase your success in life… double your rate of failure.”
I equated failure to success and I think it’s a connection that a lot of people don’t make.
Where the only way to succeed massively is actually to fail.
I don’t know any entrepreneur who has not failed.
Component 1: Internal Mastery
Essentially self-leadership.
Your ability to succeed and your ability to be a great leader is your internal mastery.
It’s your inner game and I believe of the three this is the most powerful.
If you don’t master your mind, you can’t master anything in the outer world.
Your outer world is always a reflection of your inner world.
You cannot lead other people effectively unless you can actually lead yourself…
You’ll always be incongruent & unable to show up powerfully (which people can sense).
What exactly is Internal Mastery?
Self-confidence:
How confident are you in your ability to go out and create results?
What is your level of:
Ambition?
Motivation?
Discipline?
Willpower?
Ability to break through your fears?
How do you deal with disapp0intments?
Entrepreneurs often get so disappointed and frustrated that they get into the blame game…
This blame game demonstrates that they don’t have the internal mastery to succeed and so they just give up!
There are going to be a lot of things that mess with your head on this journey to success & if you don’t learn to master your emotions and control your emotional state…
You’ll get derailed and quit.
The reason why most people don’t succeed has nothing to do with skills…
Your ability to succeed in any kind of business whether it’s network marketing, internet marketing, or whatever it is…
Has everything to do with the ability or lack of ability to have the proper emotional states.
If you’re, for instance, a bad communicator and you believe you can’t succeed because you can’t communicate…
That’s bullshit!
You can become a great communicator.
I was an awful communicator…
…but I had the will power, courage, work ethic, and determination to fail over and over while not being myself up.
How do you master your internal game?
Through personal development and taking massive action.
You’ve got to develop the willpower.
I may suck in a lot of things, but nobody is going to outwork me.
I’m going to go and produce results.
How else do you master this first component?
Through education.
Those who are the most successful often have a MASSIVE library.
We are who we are based on the books we’ve read, the people we’re around and the audios we’ve listened to.
So, we are the sum of what we know and the environment we’ve created for ourselves.
Create an environment of personal development.
Component 2: External Mastery
Your ability to execute on the things that you need to execute on.
If you’re in network marketing: your ability to invite someone to see a sales presentation…
The ability to close…
To follow up…
Ability to get someone started.
If you’re in internet marketing it could be your ability to write copy, understand persuasion and psychological triggers that cause people to actually take action.
Doing your due diligence in increasing your competence is essential if you want to succeed.
If you want to be hugely successful in any field…
You must become an expert in that field means that you’re in the top 1% knowledge level compared to everyone else.
I’ve got good news…
It’s not hard at all to get in the top 1%.
This is easy!
Why?
Most people are lazy.
If you read 5 books on the subject…
You’re in the top 1% knowledge level compared to everyone else.
So, if you’re not lazy…
Get excited that you’re going to profit on everyone else’s laziness!
If you really want to increase your external mastery
Read more than 5 books…
Consume 30+ books on the subject you’re wanting to master.
Attend seminars…
And get your 10,000 hours of practice in.
This will get you in the top 1% of 1% knowledge level.
It’s not difficult… it just takes work.
Take the knowledge and IMMEDIATELY take action on that knowledge.
If you’re struggling in sales…
Read sales books, grab a few sales courses, and immediately go out and practice what you’ve learned.
If you’re looking to increase your leadership in network marketing – the same applies.
The more you learn and increase your competence… The more you’ll increase your confidence.
Realize, however, that if how-to’s and tactics were enough then we’d all be rich, skinny, and happy.
The outer game will help your inner game.
Component 3: Your relationships and influence
This is your ability to move people…
Your ability to solidify relationships.
If you sell products online…
You still have to create relationships with those individuals so that they know, like, and trust you.
It’s your ability to care about other people; putting them first and encouraging their dreams.
Do you recognize people?
If not – realize…
People will do way more for recognition than they will for the money.
Do you naturally believe in other people?
If not – realize… If you can believe in someone more than they believe in themselves then this will increase their confidence. They end up believing in themselves which creates motivation…
With this new motivation, they’re more likely to go take action.
You must be able to move people and cause other people to do things that are in their best interests, not your own.
Don’t manage people…
Lead people.
If you were to grade yourself on a scale of 1-10:
Where are you in your internal mastery?
The external mastery of your skills?
Where are you with your ability to motivate other people?
Your relationships and influence?
How connected are you to people?
Develop and work on each of these components of leadership in network marketing or any other business you’re a part of.

It can be challenging when looking to increase duplication in Network Marketing…
How to increase duplication in network marketing
It’s simple:
If you duplicate, your organization grows.
Don’t duplicate and your organization suffers.
When first getting started in sales, I read every book on sales imaginable.
One of the things I learned was: “If you assume the sale, you’re more likely to make the sale.”
This applies when thinking of the opposite as well: “If you assume you’re not going to make the sale, you’re less likely to make the sale.”
I think we must be very, very conscious with words. Our words shape our reality.
Let’s take this principle into duplication within’ your organization…
Duplication in your network marketing organization
Alright! You’ve got a meeting set up & you’re about to go meet your prospect to show them your product, service or opportunity…
What do you say?
Most people would typically say to themselves, their spouse, or someone on their team is, “Hey, I’m going to go show the presentation!” right?
Realize – when you say ” I’m going to go the presentation” there is no assumption that they’re going to get started.
So, what can you say that would be better?
Side note – this is for your own programming!*
Go say something that’s more powerful!
You might say, “I’m going to go enroll a new person.” Right? You’re assuming that they are going to get started.
Something even better would be “I’m going to launch a new team!”.
Sometimes we don’t naturally say “I’m going to launch a new team” because we’re just showing it to one person and we don’t equate one person to a whole team.
However, if you think deeper…
How do teams get created?
It starts with one person that says “come partner with me” and BAMM! Soon you have a team.
Once we’ve programmed our thinking… It’s time to future pace our prospect
When sitting down with a prospect, ASSUME that they’re going to have a lot more success.
We are going to pre-frame or future pace our prospect…
When we do this, what we’re really doing is telling their mind what their future is going to look like when they join.
During your presentation, you might say something like this: “WHEN you get started with us, you’re going to plug into our Saturday training. Once you start building a team, you’re going to have, on average, about one or two rock stars out of every ten people that get involved with you.”.
Why do we say this in advance?
Because we want their mindset to act as if they’re already in!
If you want to increase duplication in your organization you must be different and tell the truth!
Let them know it’s going to be tough and they will face objections.
Why?
For one, its the truth!
Secondly, I don’t want them thinking before they joint that everyone’s going to join. I want to be real with them and if that scares them off, that’s something I wanted.
One of the biggest reasons people quit network marketing is false expectations. They expected it to be so great and it wasn’t.
They expected it to be easy and it wasn’t so never tell someone it’s easy.
Third, it builds trust!
Telling your prospect something that’s a ‘potential negative’ is good! This way they look at you and go, “oh wow! This guy is really honest because he’s actually telling me something negative about the products, services or opportunity.”
Final points
Set expectations.
If you’re worried about scaring people off…
Those are the people you want to scare off.
Speak to your prospect and assume their success like they’re going to build a big business…
Like they are going to be on stage…
As if they are going to have their own team.
How do you increase duplication in network marketing?
Have the mindset that your prospect is not just joining you, but building a big organization…
They’re going to be a leader.
Guess what happens when you do this…
They become a leader.

You don’t achieve success with network marketing by trying to “close” everybody… You achieve success by helping as many people who are willing, able, and ready to be helped.
Why you are where you are in life
Where you are in your life is solely based on the decisions or lack of decisions that you made two to three years ago…
And where you’re going to be two to three years from now is solely based on the decisions or lack of decisions that you make today!
Three years ago from a fitness standpoint, I was fairly out of shape.
I didn’t have a trainer…
Was only going to the gym 2-3 days/week…
And wasn’t eating healthy.
I made a decision 2-3 years ago that I wanted to stop the nonsense and become remarkable physically.
Just like with anything in life…
Success takes time.
In network marketing, it’s been a long-term game.
If you want to become a millionaire or a “legendary figure”, help a ton of people, and achieve massive success…
It’s going to take some time.
Like my workouts… It takes intensity and consistency over time to achieve success.
I’m happy to say that today I look better than I ever have & in 2-3 years I will be extraordinarily remarkable in my physicality and look even better!
How do you use this information in closing a sale?
I’ve been through all the sales training in the world…
I could tell you 20 ways to handle any objection out there and what I used to do what close hard and try to sell people who didn’t really want to be a part of my organization.
It became obvious after a while that if you try and sell someone to get in, you’ve got to sell them do anything!
I would hard close people to get in – they’d have buyer’s remorse, refund or they’d never do anything and it just didn’t work out.
So I changed my philosophy.
It’s very simple.
I got a big sheet of paper and with a big bold marker wrote, “HELP PEOPLE!’.
That’s it.
If you want to achieve success in network marketing… HELP PEOPLE
If someone doesn’t want to be involved with me, I’m going to let them go.
You know what?
I’m happy to let them go because again… if you’ve got to sell them to do something, you’ve gotta’ sell them to do anything!
I made this transition and my life got a lot easier and I started to attract the right people.
The closing process was very simple: Help people.
A conversation would look something like this:
Money Objection:
Me: “Is it true? I mean, be honest with me. Is it true that you don’t have the money or is that just a polite way of saying no because listen man… I’m cool either way. I just want to help you.” (Notice that? I just want to help you.)
Prospect: “No man, I want to do it, I just don’t have the money”
Me: “Are you sure?”
Prospect: “Yes”
Me: “Well do you want to do this?”
Prospect: “Yes”
Me: “Are you sure?”
Prospect: “Yes” (They’re starting to sell me that they want to do whatever the opportunity is).
Now, you become a coach!
A coach is designed to take someone from where they are to where they want to be.
Our job as a coach is to take someone where they want to be…
NOT where YOU want them to be.
So I make sure they want to be here.
If they want financial freedom,
Time freedom,
Have the ability to pay off all their debt,
Do big things in life,
Help others,
Travel around the world,
Make an impact in the world,
Become immortal,
Or leave a legacy after their gone…
I’m going to say something like this:
Me: “Listen, Eric, Correct me if I’m wrong but I think what’s really true is where we are in life is solely based on the decisions that we made two and three years ago. Where we’re going to be two and three years from now is based on the decisions or lack of decisions that we make today. And so if you truly want what you just said you wanted. If you want to be in a different place – here to here – it’s important that you make a decision now that is going to help get you there.
This next part is good…
“And so listen, the reality is if I had a Ferrari to sell you for a thousand dollars would you buy it? You’d come up with the money. What if I said you had to have the money tonight? You’d find the thousand dollars because you know you could sell the Ferrari for a hundred and fifty grand tomorrow. So we know you can come up with the money it’s just a matter of motivation. I think you’re powerful enough to come up with the money in the next 24 hours. Am I right?“
If they say no…
That’s the first sign that they may not be the kind of person that you would want to work with!
Having a sales person’s mentality will NOT help you to achieve success in network marketing
Continue to use your sales training, closing techniques, and rapport building…
…but focus ONLY on helping the person.
As the president and CEO of your own multi-million dollar organization…
Would you look for low-level people to spend your time with and interview?
No!
So why are you doing it in your current business?
Interview leaders!
If people want to hold onto their scarcity, their lack, and their objections…
LET THEM!
I know you want to help them at that point, but you want to help them more than they want to help themselves.
Stop trying to turn chickens into an eagle…
Sort out the chickens as fast as you can so you can find the eagles!

How do you build a high-performance culture in network marketing? A culture that ensures massive team growth and duplication?
Creating a high-performance culture in network marketing
If there was one reason I made it as an entrepreneur…
It would be because I was extremely coachable.
Whatever my mentor told me to do… I did!
Why wouldn’t I? He had exactly what I wanted.
Through my 24 years in network marketing and building a team over a million people…
I’ve learned a few things.
There are teams who explode with growth…
And there are teams who do not explode with growth.
The teams that explode with growth have great leaders that are coachable!
I have a team in Africa that were so coachable that they found ways to take my coaching beyond to me.
In fact, I have become their student in many cases…
I’m smart enough to realize that I’m not smart enough to know everything and I love seeing my students, so to speak, surpass me in their creativity as far as building teams & building leadership.
How were they able to do this?
Culture.
Which brings me to the first of three cultures necessary to implement in your organization if you want massive success…
Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Score in 24
When you have a new representative join your sales organization, you want to help them make a sale in their first twenty-four hours.
Why?
It’s physics: An object in motion tends to stay in motion. An object at rest tends to stay at rest.
If you get your team member to take action immediately, they will end up gaining momentum and stay in motion.
Take that same team member and say this person isn’t given any assignment or direction…
You can bet your ass this person is going to stay at rest and not do much.
It’s our jobs as leaders to give our team members assignments.
The score in 24 models is a great goal, puts money in their pocket within’ 24 hours, and increases their confidence/belief.
I’ll let you in on a little secret…
A question to always ask and remember…
“Who do you know that we can go talk to right now?”
BOOM! This gets them to take action QUICKLY!
Will everyone do this?
Absolutely not!
But you will get a few people who quickly take massive action and those will be the leaders in your organization.
Do not FORCE someone to take action.
If you’ve given them their assignment…
You’re producing results yourself…
and you’re helping them but they STILL don’t do it…
Fine!
You can only do what you can do.
If someone isn’t taking action on your assignment in the beginning, then they’re not coachable & they probably won’t go all the way.
I’ve realized: work with the greedy not the needy.
Work with those who deserve it, not the ones who need it.
As soon as you bring somebody on…
Tell them to invite 4 people to lunch the following day and get working.
If it’s long-distance… get people on a webinar!
Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Personal Production
Personally produce until you’re at the income level you want to retire at…
That’s when you can stop personally producing.
The team I have in Africa who are KILLING it have leaders on their team that consistently personally recruit 5,6,7 people/month!
As the leader, your team is always watching you.
When you stop personally producing…
Your team decides it must not be time to produce or they will lose beliefs within’ themselves.
Belief comes from SEEING not just talking about producing.
Should you only be focused on personal referrals?
Of course not!
You need to be working with your people.
Personally produce & don’t stop!
Building a high-performance culture in network marketing: Promoting events
Get your team to live events!
If your company doesn’t do any live events… FIND ONE!
If you want to be a top earner in your company…
make sure that your group has the highest percentage of people attending events compared to any other group.
Why?
Live events will give your team the juice needed to succeed in building a massive network marketing team.
When you’re seeing the company founders, people performing at a high level, and seeing people who ‘seem way too dumb to be at the top rank but are’ (Kidding… kind of), that creates a strong belief system within’ yourself & within’ your team.
If I look at the leaders in my organization and I ask them, “what was the one thing or one moment where you decided you were going to go all the way?”
Almost always they would say that it happened at a live event.
How to build a high-performance culture in network marketing: In closing…
Talk about these steps!
If you don’t talk about the score in 24, personal production, or live events…
People won’t do it!
So go score in 24…
Produce massive results personally…
And get your team to live events!

The most important quality of becoming a leader in network marketing is the ability to grow leaders. How? Simple. Give it all away…
The most important quality a leader must possess is the ability to grow leaders.
There’s a rule in leadership that says, “People will only follow others they perceive are at a higher level of leadership than themselves.”
Early on in my network marketing career, I couldn’t recruit anyone… let alone leaders.
I felt like a 2 (on a scale of 1-10) on the leadership scale and so I was showing up like a 2.
This means I could only recruit 1’s and 2’s if I was lucky.
When I finally started brainwashing myself and telling myself every day that “I was the leader that every other leader was looking for”…
I started showing up as a leader, therefore, was able to recruit a much higher caliber of a leader.
Now that I was able to recruit leaders…
I was faced with a different problem.
How do I grow my leaders in network marketing?
After much experience I realized…
People will turn out the way you expect them to turn out.
This means that people’s degree of leadership will be based on your thinking about their leadership…
Your expectation of their leadership.
Is this absolute?
Of course not!
But if you don’t expect big things from your leaders, they’re way less likely to rise to higher levels.
So great, we’ve got step one: Expect big things from your leaders.
What’s step two?
Become a leader in network marketing by constantly encouraging your people
Tell them how great they are.
Recognize their accomplishments and celebrate even the smallest wins.
Many leaders who have an incredible work ethic, great trainers, and mastered all the skills…
Sabotage themselves because they want all the glory.
They want the fame.
This brings me to Step three:
Give away all the glory
Great leaders give away all the glory.
As soon as a leader on your team thinks that you want all the glory, they’re gonna be less likely to work really hard to make you more money.
However…
If you’re constantly recognizing, constantly edifying, and celebrating their wins… your leaders will do anything for you!
They’ll think, “Wow! He/she sees something in me that I don’t see in myself!”
If you want to get really good at something…
Get good at seeing leadership in other people that they don’t see in themselves.
That’s what my mentor did with me.
I started producing and he started recognizing me and giving me the glory, not just one-on-one, but publicly.
Even when I wasn’t around.
Why?
If you recognize someone even when they’re not around…
It will get back to them and it will be much more meaningful.
It’s more impactful because they’ll understand that you’re not just giving them compliments to bump up their ego.
Give away credit for your success
When a leader on your team edifies you…
Say, “the only reason why I’ve been able to achieve what I’ve achieved is I’ve got amazing leaders on the team.”
Give them the confidence that they can surpass you & they are more capable than you were.
In The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz; It talks about honor.
You should honor the leader, respect the leader, learn from the leader, but never think you can’t pass the leader because second-best thinkers are invariably second-best doers.
If you hog on the glory… you’re preventing them from having the confidence and belief that they can surpass you.
Becoming a leader in network marketing is about giving hope
When someone puts me on a pedestal I’m always saying, “I want you to pass me. You have the ability to pass me. When I was x years into network marketing like you, I had nowhere near the ability that you have.”
Don’t just give people glory, but give them hope.
Let them know that they have within’ them to far surpass you.
The more glory you give…
And the more hop you give…
The more glory comes back to you.

How do we overcome challenges in network marketing? Every entrepreneur and network marketer has challenges (especially at the beginning)… so what do we do about them?
How to overcome challenges in network marketing
I’ve got some bad news for you…
You are going to face challenges.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, network marketer, business owner, or working for somebody else…
There will be challenges.
We all face the same thing…
The valley of death
Most of the people who have quit network marketing or failed in business have all been through this valley but never overcame it.
The valley of death is the ebbs and flows of success…
You have some success then BAM! You start to have a little failure.
I’ve got news for you…
NOBODY’S business experiences only success.
Most of us don’t think like business owners and we think somehow, in our delusional state, that our business is supposed to go straight up all the time.
That’s not going to happen my friends…
There will always be peaks and valleys in business and your life.
Often times when you are just getting started in something, you have no money!
In the first year and a half of most business endeavors, you see very little financial progress…
So how do you get through this valley of death?
How do we overcome the challenges faced in the valley of death?
You need emotional capital.
You’ve got to have enough emotional capital in order to weather the storm…
To get through the valley.
How do you get through this valley of death?
You KEEP GOING!
Most people don’t like to hear this, but…
If you want to succeed in network marketing or any other business endeavor…
You MUST do your due diligence.
Learn all you can.
Figure stuff out.
How are you going to get more customers in your business and keep them?
What are your profit margins?
How is your marketing?
You’ve got to figure all those things out.
There’s a concept called Kai Zen in Japanese which means the art of continuous and never-ending improvement.
Tony Robbins calls it C-A-N-I (Constant And Never-ending Improvement)
Using Kai Zen to overcome challenges in network marketing
Constantly try and improve your skills…
Learning new closing techniques…
Trying new invitation techniques…
Learning how to create more authority over social media.
All of these things come into play when moving towards success in network marketing.
We must discipline our disappointments and think like business owners because every business owner goes through the valley of death.
Every million-dollar earner in our profession (that’s been around long enough) has gone through this valley.
No more thinking, “Oh poor pitiful me. Why does this have to happen to me? I suck! I’m not a good salesperson. I’m not a good closer.”
Almost every network marketing leader went through the same thing.
You’re not special!
Increase your emotional capital…
Fortify your emotional strength…
Discipline your disappointments…
Be patient with your results and be very impatient with your activity.
Go make it happen.

This one law will teach you how to make more money in network marketing and more than you’re worth now.
The key to earning more than your worth in network marketing
If you’re wanting to know how to earn more money than you’re worth…
That’s not going to happen.
At least, not in the short term…
There may be brief moments where you earn more money than you’re worth, but it always comes back to what you’re worth.
Let’s use the analogy of the thermostat:
If it gets too hot in a room, the air conditioner will kick on.
Conversely, if it gets too cold in a room, the heater will kick on.
Let’s say your thermostat is set to $ 40,000/year (what you’re currently making)…
If you make more than that, then the coolers kick on and get you back to 40…
If you start earning less than that, the heater kicks on and it gets you back up to 40.
We stay in line with where we are…
Where our belief system is…
And where our identity is.
So what’s the key to earning more money?
The Law Of Expansion is the key to earning more money in network marketing
The law states:
If you want to grow your income, you have to grow who you are as a person.
We’ve got to expand our capabilities.
When I first got started as an entrepreneur, I made no money.
I struggled like crazy…
Beat my head against the wall…
And watched everyone else pass me by.
I was disheartened and discouraged. I was beaten up internally and had so much fear crippling me.
How did I get out of it?
The law of expansion!
I created an obsession with personal development because I knew that if I wanted to make more money…
I had to expand my mind to be the kind of person who’s worthy of earning $ x/month.
Let’s simplify this law with an analogy
You’ve got a glass…
You have some water…
The water represents your income.
The glass represents your capacity.
Your capacity is a combination of:
- Your confidence
- Self-worth
- Ability to have the courage to break through your fears.
- Emotional intelligence
- etc.
Most people have about 60% of their glass full (They’re operating at 60% capacity)…
The more money you make, the more capacity you start using.
Soon you start working harder and harder…
You’re making more and more money…
And soon you fill your capacity.
Your income is at your level of capacity and this is where you plateau.
Have you every plateaued in your business?
So you continue to work harder and harder, but it’s not working.
You blame other people…
Your upline…
The product…
Everyone else…
…But in reality, it’s you!
You’ve got to get a bigger glass!
If you continue working without expanding your capacity, it doesn’t matter how hard you work, it just falls over.
You burn yourself out & quit.
How do you expand your capacity to make more money in network marketing?
We must become obsessed with personal development every single day.
I was on a plane yesterday to Cabo and the guy next to me was playing a war game on his phone while I was reading a book.
Why am I farther ahead in life?
Is it because I’m naturally smarter than him?
No.
Is it because I’m naturally more talented than him?
Not at all.
It’s because I’m focused on expanding my capacity.
I began as a thimble…
Then upgraded to a shot glass…
My glass (capacity) has been getting bigger and bigger.
If you’re willing to do things that other people are unwilling to do long enough…
You will have things and live a life that most people will never have and most people never will.
But you’ve got to be willing to do it.
Expand your capacity, my friends.

What happens when we run out of our friends/family to talk to? How to we have success when prospecting our cold market?
Cold Market Prospecting Success In Network Marketing
The biggest struggle most network marketers face is not knowing what to do after they’ve run out of their warm market prospects…
They’ve talked to their friends…
Their families…
Even their friend’s friends!
Now what?
I had these same issues when just getting started until I realized one thing.
There is no shortage of people on this planet
There are people everywhere!
It wasn’t that I couldn’t find anyone else to talk to about my opportunity…
The problem was the fear I had towards reaching out to people I didn’t know!
We must break out of our comfort zone if we are to find success in this field.
I read every book…
Meditated…
And attended training to help me get out of this fear.
It wasn’t until I JUST DID IT that I broke through.
Steps for cold market prospecting success
Before we get into the framework…
Let’s get into some easy steps.
First, Make eye contact with your prospect
Second, Say “hi”.
Third, Say “hi” and smile!
Finally, Say “hi”, smile, and ask “how are you?”
BOOM! You’ve just done more than 97% of network marketers out there.
To break out of your comfort zone and move towards success…
We MUST say something to someone.
Sounds simple, doesn’t it?
Initiate the conversation without expectation!
If you screw up (which you will)…
Don’t worry! There are 7 billion other people in the world to talk to.
You probably won’t ever see them again anyway.
Framework for cold market prospecting success
Alrighty, now that we got the steps out of the way…
Let’s dive into the framework.
Posturing yourself for success
Approach every situation with the belief that it is your duty to share this opportunity with someone.
I’ve helped 50+ people become millionaires…
If I would have been too scared to share my opportunity with them…
I wouldn’t have been able to drastically change their lives or the lives of their family.
They need YOU. You DO NOT need them.
Be confident…
Smile…
And have a light-hearted attitude.
Give a sincere compliment
When approaching any prospect…
Give them a sincere compliment!
“That’s an awesome suit! Where’d you get it?”
or
“That’s an awesome dress! My girlfriend would love to wear something like that!”
This starts a conversation while at the same time works to create rapport.
Ask what they do for a living
“What do you do for a living?
Prospect answers
“How long have you been doing it?”
Prospect answers
“You must love what you do seeing as though you’ve been doing it for so long!”
Most of the time they will say they don’t love what they do then…
BAM! That’s your in.
Get their phone number/tell them you’ll call them in a couple of days
Never ask for their phone number…
It makes you sound desperate.
Lead the process.
“Hey listen, I’ve got to go but you seem like a very sharp open-minded individual. I’m looking for leaders & business leaders for my organization. Here, put your number in my phone and we’ll grab a coffee in the next couple of days.”
PRO TIP:
If you really want to build instant credibility/authority…
Hand them your book THEN get them to put their number in your phone.
You’ve created reciprocity (You’ve given them something & they feel the need to give back)…
Created authority…
AND you will be seen as a powerful leader they would want to follow.
If you have any questions about becoming an author… just reach out to me!
Recap:
Say “hi” and smile.
Give a sincere compliment.
Ask questions.
Be matter-of-fact.
Lead the exchange.
